In our first year, we’ve gone from starting up to actively creating, learning, and making our presence known.
Over the course of the year, we hosted meetings, took on design challenges, and started building a community that values creativity and collaboration. Along the way, our club was recognized by Watson College and by TEA Next Gen, which was both encouraging and motivating for a club so early in its journey.
This section highlights the recent news and events that reflect who we are right now. We’re just getting started, but we’ve already accomplished a lot, and we are excited to keep building on that momentum.
Our TPED group visited Hersheypark in Hershey, PA for a day that blended engineering insight with a little bit of fun. A behind‑the‑scenes tour led by the park’s head engineering officer gave members a rare look at the innovation behind major attractions. The rest of the day was spent enjoying the park and connecting as a group. It was an experience that was both educational and unforgettable.
Watson Community Day at Binghamton University is a fun, hands-on celebration of STEM designed to inspire the next generation of innovators. Families and young learners are invited to explore interactive engineering activities, exciting demonstrations, and student-led projects that make science and technology come to life.
TPED’s Ride Engineering Project brings together students from multiple disciplines to design, build, and test a functional 3D-printed model roller coaster. Members gain hands-on experience with prototyping, mechanical design, electronics, and problem-solving while applying real engineering principles to create a working ride system from the ground up.
